In Australia the use of Steel Storage Racking is governed by a number of standards. These include:

• AS4084 The Australian Standard for Steel Storage Racking and
• AS 4068-1993 The Australian Standard for Flat Pallets for Materials Handling

In addition to these standards many companies develop their own standard for the installation and use of steel storage racking. 

On top of these standards, a range of other local government regulations can apply. In some areas building regulations govern not only the set up of racking but also how rack should be used in special areas like seismic zones.
