Help raise awareness of work health and safety this 28 April

Tuesday 28 April 2015 is World Day for Safety and Health at Work and Workers' Memorial Day.

On this day we remember those who have died to workplace incidents and disease, and help prevent future deaths by raising the awareness of work health and safety.

In 2014, 185* workers have been killed while at work. The deaths of these workers would have affected not only family members, friends and colleagues but the broader community.

By raising the awareness of work health and safety we can help prevent workplace incidents and death.

What can you do?

To get involved, you could:

  • attend a memorial event in your state or territory
  • hold a one minute silence to remember those who have died
  • arrange for a safety expert to speak at your workplace, or
  • host a toolbox talk.

For more information or to download an electronic resource kit to help you promote activities in your workplace visit the Safe Work Australia website.
