Here are some recommendations to ensure you manage steel storage racking effectively

  1. Have your racking inspected at least annually.
  2. Get online access to your racking inspection reports with IRIA’s online reporting tool RackMaster™.
  3. Keep all your racking related documentation within easy access
  4. Have documentation to demonstrate that your staff have been trained to use on-site equipment.
  5. Keep records demonstrating that your staff have attended IRIA’s applicable online training courses and know how to safely work around racking.
  6. Use RackMaster™ to report damage, action racking repairs and tick off once complete..
  7. Have a racking repair program in place.
  8. Have Safe Work Load Charts prominently displayed. If any charts are missing contact IRIA to discuss getting replacement charts.
  9. Make sure staff know what the load capacity is for your racking system.
  10. Make sure there is a system in place to report racking damage. IRIA can provide hard copy and online systems to manage racking safety and effectively
